Toyota FT-86 Is Coming - Sort Of

The people over at Toyota are finally, absolutely, bringing the long awaited supercar, FT-86, into production... sort of. The car chassis is going to be used as the underpins of an upcoming Lexus vehicle, for the Japanese auto maker's luxury brand.

Toyota's FT-86 hasn't hit dealerships yet, but strong rumors are suggesting the jointly-developed sports car will use its chassis to the next-generation Lexus IS.

There is not any solid information at this time, but straight from Road & Track, they're reporting the car will ride on a "stretched version of FT-86 platform and debut in 2013…

Toyota RAV4 EV Officially Revealed

The RAV4 EV model was unveiled at the 2010 Los Angeles auto show, and was one of 35 test models Toyota says will be built through 2011. This allows for complete evaluation before introducing "a fully engineered vehicle with a target range of 100 miles between charges" the Japanese automaker said.

Electric vehicle maker Tesla will be Toyota's partner on the RAV4 project, which will include a battery pack and other electric components built by Tesla at its plant in Palo Alto, Calif. These will be installed in RAV4 models built at the Toyota plant in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada…
