Demand Rises for Toyota Prius

The Toyota Prius is the most popular hybrid car on the market today. To date, worldwide sales are around two million. Demand for Prius is surging, and you can test drive one today at Hoy-Fox Toyota in El Paso, TX.

 

"Consideration of the 50-mpg Toyota Prius among its online shoppers is up more than 30% since the beginning of the year, rising almost in parallel with gasoline," Edmunds.com said recently, in a prepared statement. "That's triple the 11% increase in consideration of all hybrids and of all small cars in general."

A Pack of Prius Cars Will Be Called Prii

The plural of Toyota Prius has sparked debate for nearly 10 years, which starting from the launch of the first automobile. As the Toyota Prius range grew, the dilemma of how to refer to several Prius became even more critical.

Toyota invited the general public to vote for the phrase that best suits the growing fleet to fix this issue. Among the terms tossed around were: Priuses, Prium, Prien, and Prii. Well, the official numbers are in and Prii is the winner, taking the greater part of the 1.8 million votes.
